Why the "bleep" Me?

Handling layoff, downsizing or Why the “Bleep” Me -- as a result of a Job Loss 50,000 City Bank employees to be laid off.  ARE YOU ONE OF THEM? Auto Industry (GM and Chrysler) to lay off 6,000 employees.  ARE YOU ONE OF THEM? Retail Stores (Ann Taylor, Eddie Bauer, Talbots, Gap, Disney Stores, Home Depot, Zales, Sprint -- to name a few) are closing over 717 stores combined.  ARE YOU ONE OF THEM? This is not about scare tactics, or gloom and doom.  THIS IS ABOUT HOW TO HANDLE YOUR TRANSITION FROM LAYOFF TO NEW CAREER IN A SMOOTH, EASY AND QUICK MANNER.  No one wants to be without an income.  No one has to be without an income. There are thousands of other opportunities out there for you (believe me!) We will explore the mental impact on you (from—“I am devastated because I have never lost my job before”, to “why this may be the best thing that ever happened to you”—seriously). I AM ALSO INTERESTED IN YOUR SHARING YOUR THOUGHTS ON HOW YOU ARE BEING MENTALLY AND PHYSICALLY IMPACTED BY THIS DOWNSIZING.  You may do this by posting a comment on this site, or if you wish to share information with me privately (so that I can personally assist you), then please contact me at whythebleepme@gmail.com. This is a work in progress.  I will continue to post information to assist you in handling your transition, suggesting interim financial possibilities and mapping your new career opportunities. You will be amazed how the downsizing by your company was exactly what you needed to spur you on to your real purpose in life. One hint right now:  Create a list with two columns (one says “pros” and the other says “cons”). Now write down absolutely everything you loved and disliked about your job (really pull out all the stops when compiling this list—you will be amazed).  Which list is longer?  E-mail me with your findings if you wish.
